About Joel Serino
A steward of the inquiry, not its center.
I'd like to say what I am doing here is weaving ancient sounds and future narratives into the unified field of possibility. What I will say instead is far more believable...
The Long Weaving started as a personal inquiry and journey of discovery. Now it is being woven into a living library - a place where ideas about belonging, relationship, community, and human cooperation are gathered, explored, and returned to.

The Question
The Long Weaving first existed at the intersection of inner practice and outer structure - the place where the work of becoming a more loving person met the work of building more loving systems.
It began as a question: what would it look like if loving kindness were not just a personal practice but a structural technology - something that could be woven into the fabric of our relationships, our families, our communities, our institutions, and our daily lives?
The books, conversations, essays, practices, and more gathered here are explorations of that question. They are not answers. They are threads of my life offered with the hope that together we might weave something that holds.
What Makes My Work Different?
As the steward and host of The Weaving, I am but a fellow inquirer - someone who has spent years exploring the practices and ideas gathered here and I want to explore them with you too.
My work spans contemplative practice, community organizing, and systems thinking. He is the author of the forthcoming book The Long Weaving: Devotion and Belonging for the Renewal of Community.
